Lee Holdsworth is entering his eighth year as a full-time driver in the V8 Supercar Championship and will again be adapting to a different manufacturer as he lines up on the grid in Erebus Motorsport's new Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG V8 Supercar.

A graduate of the one-make Commodore Cup series, Holdsworth had a stint in the Dunlop Series in 2004 and competed in the odd round in 2005.

He was signed by Garry Rogers Motorsport to contest the endurance events in the main series in 2005 before being invited back at Philip Island's season finale to drive the second car.

Having scored the gig on a full-time basis, Holdsworth lined up alongside Dean Canto for 2006, with a sixth place at Oran Park the sign of things to come.

Using the established VZ Commodore in early 2007 helped Holdsworth prove himself and he qualified in the top 10 on plenty of occasions ahead of some more established names.

Debuting a new VE Commodore at Queensland Raceway, Holdsworth broke through for his maiden win at Oran Park in the Jim Beam 400 and returned in 2008 armed with Walkinshaw Racing engines.

A second place in the opening event at Adelaide was an obvious highlight, as the Melbourne-based racer narrowly missed a top-10 finish in the championship.

In 2009, he scored another podium finish in the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide and also celebrated his first V8 Supercar pole position in Townsville as well as a podium result in the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 alongside Michael Caruso.

Holdsworth made the big jump across to Ford and Stone Brothers Racing in 2012 after a seven-year association with Garry Rogers Motorsport in Melbourne.

2012 proved a year of mixed results, but in one of the most thrilling finishes of the year Holdsworth broke through for his first podium finish of the year in Race 27 at Winton.

Maro Engel joins the Erebus Motorsport V8 stable in 2013 and will compete in the V8 Supercars Series for the first time.

An experienced driver who was born in Germany and grew up in Monaco, Engel makes his move to Australia this year after spending four years driving in the DTM series as a Mercedes-Benz factory driver.

Like many racing drivers, Engel started his racing career in the world of karting (1996 - 2000).

In 2001, he drove in his first formula racing series. After two years in Formula BMW, he graduated to the Formula 3 Euro Series in 2003 and became an AMG ambassador. In 2005, he switched to the Italian Formula 3000 Championship, finishing in seventh place overall.

In 2006 and 2007, Engel competed in the fiercely contested British Formula 3 International Championship.He ended the 2007 season in second place overall, with three victories, eight podium positions and four pole positions under his belt.

In the three years between 2008 and 2011, Engel drove for Mercedes-Benz in the DTM.

While 2013 will be his first season driving a V8 Supercar, Engel is no stranger to the Erebus Motorsport team after winning his Australian debut race in the SLS GT3 Championship at Phillip Island in 2012.

Engel will pilot the #9 SP Tools Racing Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG V8 Supercar and will work closely with Engineer Chris Stuckey.

Dubbed as one of the sports' rising stars, Tim Slade is a driver to watch in the 2013 V8 Supercars Championship as part of the Erebus Motorsport V8 squad.

Slade entered the V8 Supercars Championship in 2009 after two years in the Dunlop Series and, after a slow start in the second Supercheap Auto Commodore run by Paul Morris Motorsports, showed huge improvement to eventually claim top-10 results in the endurance races at Phillip Island and Bathurst.

The former South Australian stamped his mark as a man to watch back in 2006 by finishing runner-up in the Australian Formula Ford Championship.

He debuted in the Dunlop Series in 2007 and his second year in 2008 proved to be one of his best.

Slade won his first race and round at Wakefield Park but also rounded out the season with a podium at Oran Park and took victory in the Privateer's Cup for the best non-Level 1-affiliated team and driver in the development category.

Slade's long-time backer James Rosenberg has been involved in Australian motorsport for over two decades and purchased a Racing Entitlements Contract from Paul Cruickshank to take more control of the duo's destiny for their move to Stone Brothers Racing from 2010 onwards.

Slade scored his first podium finish in 2011 at Queensland Raceway, though last year proved to be Slade's best yet in V8 Supercar racing with a catalogue of achievements including his first pole position, first Top 10 Shootout at Bathurst and multiple podium finishes.
